Humayun’s Tomb

There are so many tourist attractions in the city of Delhi. Delhi is considered to be one of the most historical capitals in the entire world. The Humayun’s Tomb was built in 1562. The tomb itself took eight years to build featuring a Chahr Bagh Garden style embedded into it’s design. Based on the Islamic paradise gardens this tomb is truly exquisite. The unique design of the tomb made it the first of its kind and appear very original as well as rare. Hamida Banu Begum Humayun’s widow ordered for the tomb to be constructed. The Humayun’s Tomb was so magnificent it inspired the construction of the great Taj Mahal and many other tombs similar. The Humayun’s Tomb is a significant milestone in the history of the architecture of Mughal. The tomb has been fully restored. When you visit you can see the sparkling water flow through the watercourses of the elegant garden. It is one of the sights you have to be there to grasp the true peaceful beauty of it all. During 1857 the tomb was used by Bahadur Shah Zafar and his three princes to live during the first war of Independence. Humayun who took over the Mughal dynasty after the death of his father died from a fall in his library.
